Paulina Abrokwah is a Trade Policy Advocate and Technical Trainer with deep specialization in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) framework. She focuses on translating technical trade policy into practical understanding for SMEs, women, and youth to support their participation in regional and continental trade.
She has strong technical expertise in AfCFTA implementation areas, including Rules of Origin (RoO), Trade in Services, Non-Tariff Barriers (NTBs), and Phase II protocols. Her work emphasizes making these complex trade instruments usable for non-policy actors, particularly private sector stakeholders.
Professionally, she has designed and delivered capacity-building programmes targeting women in trade and youth entrepreneurs, specifically aimed at helping them understand and use AfCFTA trade preferences. She has also developed and implemented advocacy campaigns to increase private sector awareness of AfCFTA operationalization and has facilitated high-level workshops for business associations on practical application of AfCFTA protocols.
In addition to policy and training work, she has strong media and communications experience. She is the Producer and Host of “African Common Market,” a television programme dedicated to AfCFTA sensitization. She also has skills in scriptwriting for trade education, talk-show moderation, stakeholder interviews, and broader “storytelling for trade,” where she converts technical trade data and legal frameworks into accessible narratives for radio, TV, and digital media.
Overall, her profile combines trade policy expertise, capacity building, advocacy strategy, and media production to support inclusive understanding and uptake of AfCFTA across Africa’s private sector and grassroots economic actors.
